Mineral sunscreen with a conditioning feel

A 100% mineral SPF 50 sunscreen built on a base of grass-fed tallow, with non-nano zinc oxide as the active. It is broad spectrum, water resistant for 80 minutes, and made for face and body.

Most mineral sunscreens feel dry and heavy. This one has a rich, conditioning feel and rubs in without the thick, pasty look when you warm a small amount between your fingertips first.

No oxybenzone, no octinoxate and no seed oils. In a 3.4 fl oz (100 ml) size that is carry-on friendly.

It starts with tallow.

The base is grass-fed tallow. Tallow has been used on skin for generations, and it gives this sunscreen its rich, conditioning feel.

Then, two minerals.

Non-nano zinc oxide and non-nano titanium dioxide do the sun protection. There are no chemical UV filters.

Plus aloe.

Aloe vera adds a light, conditioning feel, so the lotion spreads easily.

Ready for the water.

It is water resistant for 80 minutes. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating.

How to use it

Shake well.
Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure.

Perfect sun screen for adults and kids. No harmful chemicals. Does not leave a white film on skin as long as you rub it in good. I love it. Very creamy, goes on quickly and smoothly. Safe for all. My New Favorite Sunscreen!

This sunscreen is wonderful! There's no greasiness, stickiness, white cast, or smell and it works great! I love how moisturized my skin feels after using it, too. The BEST chemical free no white cast sunscreen!

This is by far the best sunscreen I have ever used! As a melanoma survivor I can not stress enough the importance of a good sunscreen. This is a little pricy for the amount but I subscribe and save on my bottles for a discount. I AM NOT paid at all for this review I just hope I can help someone else who may be on the fence. This sunscreen has absolutely no chemicals whatsoever and leaves zero white cast and the smell is wonderful! It is so moisturizing I find myself applying it almost everytime I see the tube. I also have very acne prone skin with many products and this sunscreen does not clog up my pores or bring on any unwanted pimples. I have even used it on my kids and my 11 month old (even my red headed freckled child) and they have not once been burned this summer. This is the first summer I myself have not burned either and I have only used sages of the ages on my skin. I will forever be a user of this sunscreen and will continue my subscription over the winter to stock up my supply for next summer. Outstanding! NO WHITE CAST, lightweight, elegant skin care

I’m really impressed with this sunscreen! It has NO WHITE CAST, it goes on light and sinks right in. It’s not thick and pasty white like so many mineral sunscreens. easy to blend AND no white cast? UNREAL but true

i was initially drawn to this sunscreen because i saw it had a great EWG score (1). i hesitated at first because of the price but very happy i went through with my purchase. i have medium to tan combination skin and this sunscreen was very easy to blend onto my face, given that it has a moisturizer like texture. and the best part? NO WHITE CAST. only removing a star because it is still pricey especially for the size which is why I've been limiting its use to my face lol

Safe for whole family, non greasy, no white cast

I absolutely LOVE that this sunscreen is safe to put on skin and doesn’t have even the slightest white tint to it. I can use it on my face under makeup because it’s not greasy. The only natural sunblock that has ever worked for me

This is the best natural sunblock I have ever used. I was totally impressed with how well it goes on. It’s light weight and not greasy at all. Very very little whitening.. Amazing!

This sunscreen exceeded my expectations! Hands down the best sunscreen I’ve ever tried. I have rosacea and need a pure mineral sunscreen with a high zinc content. I have olive skin and it goes on effortlessly with no white cast. Feels nice and not sticky at all. My teenage boys use it too, with no complaints. I haven’t tried it out in a beach environment yet but it’s great for daily use. High quality product, but quite pricey. Update: Aug 17/26- went on 2 beach vacations this summer and did not burn at all or have a rosacea flare. I’ve worn this every day this summer and love how it feels. I hope they never stop making this cream❤️

It's literally the perfect sun screen for us

Wow! I've never used a beef tallow product before so I had no idea what to expect but the positive reviews made me want to give it a try. I'm so impressed! The consistency is almost a gel/cream texture. Very lightweight but not runny so it stays where you put it, which is what I wanted, especially when doing my child's face. Spreads easily, like a gel, and no sticky feel. Afterwards it feels like you don't have anything on. Zero white cast. I hope they never stop making this product.

This tallow mineral sunscreen is white, goes on very easy as well and it rubs in good without a white cast. I was using other white sunscreens that were very difficult to rub in and leaving white looking skin. I am very impressed with " Sages for the Ages" sun screen.

Limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses.

Other Information: Protect the product in this container from excessive heat and direct sunlight. This product may stain some fabrics.

Is tallow the sunscreen?

No. The UV protection comes from the minerals: non-nano zinc oxide (25%) and non-nano titanium dioxide (10%). Tallow is the base that carries them and gives the cream its rich, conditioning feel. Plain tallow on its own is not a sunscreen.

What are the active ingredients?

Non-nano zinc oxide 25% and non-nano titanium dioxide 10%. There are no chemical UV filters, so no oxybenzone or octinoxate.

Has the SPF been tested?

The label states SPF 50. An independent, CNAS-accredited lab also screened this formula in vitro (mean SPF 58.66, UVA protection factor 43.89). That is a lab-plate screening, not the in vivo test on people that the FDA uses for labeled SPF values. The full lab report is on our lab results page.

Will it leave a white cast?

No. It goes on white and rubs in clear. Warm a small amount between your fingertips and blend it in evenly.

Is it water resistant?

Yes, for 80 minutes. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, right after towel drying, and at least every 2 hours.

Can I use it on my face?

Yes. It's made for face and body, so one bottle covers your whole routine.

Can my kids use it?

Yes. It's a broad spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen, and sunscreens with SPF 15+ and broad spectrum protection qualify for FSA and HSA reimbursement under the CARES Act.
